1. A connector assembly for creating a gas seal between chromatographic tubing comprising:
at least one set of two ferrules for receiving the tubing wherein each of the ferrules has a body with a first end, a second
end, an internal bore extending the length of the body, and a tip integral with the body and protruding from the first end,
wherein the tip has a flat surface through which the internal bore extends and wherein the flat surface of the tip is of a
smaller area than the first end and is perpendicular to the body, and wherein the tubing is inserted into the second end;
and
a clamping mechanism for mating the two or more ferrules in a tip to tip interface, wherein the clamping mechanism has a frame
for securing the ferrules in alignment and a spring for applying biasing force to the second end of the ferrules such that
a gas seal is created at the interface.
