1. A method of incrementally maintaining a summary table derived from a plurality of base tables in a database stored on the
computer, the method comprising:
(a) applying a plurality of modifications to the base tables; and
(b) propagating the applied modifications to the summary table, wherein the propagated modifications include an associated
tag column containing a tag value, and the tag value indicates how many rows are to be added or deleted from the summary table.
