1. A planar lightwave circuit (PLC), comprising:
a first grating having a first center wavelength, the first grating having a first effective refractive index and a grating
spacing profile; and
a second grating having a second center wavelength, the second grating having a second effective refractive index different
from that of the first grating and a grating profile that is substantially the same as that of the first grating, wherein
the first and second gratings are formed in regions of the PLC that have different doping profiles.
