1. A bone marrow aspiration device, comprising:
an elongate penetrating element having a proximal end, a distal end, and an inner lumen extending therebetween;
a chamber in communication with the proximal end of the elongate penetrating element;
a container removably disposed within the chamber and having an implantable substrate disposed therein, the container being
effective to allow fluid to flow therethrough; and
a fluid extraction mechanism in communication with the chamber, the fluid extraction mechanism being effective to pull fluid
through the elongate penetrating element into the chamber and through the substrate.
