1. A surgical microscope arrangement comprising:
a stand having an arm;
a surgical microscope including a viewing assembly and a tubular unit;
said arm supporting said surgical microscope at a fixed position in space;
said surgical microscope further including an interface unit comprising an ocular portion connected to said viewing assembly
and a tubular portion connected to said tubular unit;
said ocular portion and said tubular portion conjointly defining a rotary joint; and,
said arm including a releasable attaching device for rigidly attaching said surgical microscope to said arm directly at said
ocular portion so as to permit said tubular portion and said tubular unit to be rotated at said rotary joint while said ocular
portion and said viewing assembly remain stationary in space with said arm.
