1. A propshaft assembly comprising:
a shaft structure having a hollow cavity, the shaft structure vibrating in response to the receipt of an input of a predetermined frequency such that a shell mode anti-node is generated; and
an elongated insert member being disposed within the hollow cavity in press-fit engagement with the shaft structure, the insert member is located at a position that approximately corresponds to the anti-node and has a compressive strength that is tailored to an anticipated displacement of the anti-node to thereby attenuate vibration of the shaft structure, wherein the insert member is formed from a plurality of closed cells that are axially aligned and shaped as right hexagonal prisms.
