1. A video compression routine including:
examining pixels in selected past and present video frames;
for a given said present frame and for a current pixel thereof, making fixed bit length packets that define at least the current
pixel, said packets being selected from packet types based on said examination, said packet types at least including:
(1) pixel-copy packets having at least one packet-type identifier bit identifying the packet as said pixel-copy packet type
and at least one repeat count identification bit identifying the number of times after the current pixel a reference pixel
color is to be copied; and
(2) color defining packets having at least one packet-type identifier bit identifying the packet as said color defining packet
type and at least one color identifier bit identifying as a binary word a specific pixel color associated with the current
pixel.
