1. A method for quantifying the teichoic acids in a preparation comprising teichoic acids and one or more additional capsular
polysaccharides of Streptococcus pneumoniae, the method comprising:
(i) treating the preparation with hydrofluoric acid (HF) at a temperature of less than or equal to 40° C., in order to release
the oligosaccharides specific for the teichoic acids present in the preparation; and
(ii) quantifying the specific oligosaccharides obtained in (i).
