1. A tubular fishing rod holder formed from a generally cylindrical tube having a longitudinal axis, said tube comprising:
a forward holding end portion for operably and axially receiving and holding a handle portion of a fishing rod; and
a rearward mounting end portion for operably and removably mounting said fishing rod holder to a support, said rearward mounting end portion comprising:
(a) a first upper mounting slot formed along the longitudinal axis in a top portion of said tube and communicating a rearward end of said tube with a first upper aperture formed at a predetermined distance from said rearward end, wherein a portion of said first upper aperture is shaped to fit the support, and said shaped portion of said first upper aperture forms an upper locking groove;
(b) a first lower mounting slot formed along the longitudinal axis in a bottom portion of said tube and communicating said rearward end with a first lower aperture formed at a predetermined distance from said rearward end, wherein said first lower aperture is shaped to form a stopping point and create a locking action to the support;
(c) a second upper mounting slot of a predetermined length communicating said first upper mounting slot and said rearward end at a predetermined angle with a second upper aperture at a predetermined distance from said rearward end, wherein a portion of said second upper aperture is shaped to form a locking groove; and
(d) a second lower mounting slot of a predetermined length communicating said first lower aperture and said rearward end at a predetermined angle with a second lower aperture at a predetermined distance from said rearward end, wherein a portion of said second lower aperture is shaped to form a locking groove;
said second upper and lower mounting slots are parallel and equal in distance from said rearward mounting end.
