1. A method for administering a medicant at a treatment site in a body of a patient, the method comprising:
providing a medical device including a leading end portion insertable into the body of the patient;
releasably holding substantially all of the medicant to be released in a holder,
said holder disposed proximate to the leading end portion of the medical device;
inserting the leading end portion, including said holder holding the medicant, into the body of the patient;
moving the leading end portion of the medical device along an insertion path in the body of the patient, including attracting the leading end portion of the medical device with a magnetic field extending to a location outside of the patient's body; and
releasing the medicant at the treatment site.
