1. A system for obtaining images of a user wearing an eyeglass frame, wherein the images are used to measure the user to customize vision-corrective lenses for the user, the system comprising:
a computer system comprising one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions to:
generate a user interface used to take one or more images of the user wearing a wearable item;
display, via the user interface, guidance information that assists the user to align one or more anatomical features of the user, the guidance information comprising one or more visual cues that should intersect the one or more anatomical features; and
receive an indication from the user that the guidance information and the one or more anatomical features of the user are aligned, wherein the computer system is further programmed to:
determine a position of the one or more anatomical features based on the guidance information and the image;
display a position indicator at the determined position in relation to the one or more anatomical features, wherein the position indicator indicates the determined position;
provide a prompt that asks the user to verify whether the position indicator is correctly placed with respect to the one or more anatomical features; and
save the image in association with the determined position responsive to a determination that the user has verified the position indicator is correctly placed.
