1. A method of carbon dioxide sequestration by in situ mineralization of carbon dioxide in an underground geological formation, wherein the geological formation comprises mainly peridotite, comprising:
dissolving an amount of carbon dioxide into water in a gas dissolution module on or above the surface of the earth to form a carbon dioxide and water mixture;
injecting the carbon dioxide and water mixture into said geological formation through an injection borehole well head of an injection well, wherein the injection borehole well head is connected to tubing extending into the geological formation;
wherein a packer is connected to said tubing and disposed in the injection well to hydraulically isolate the carbon dioxide and water mixture below a minimum depth of the geological formation and above a maximum depth of the geological formation;
wherein said tubing has a plurality of longitudinal perforations at a depth of 0.5 to 1.8 km in the geological formation;
and
reacting the majority of the carbon dioxide in said carbon dioxide and water mixture with said geological formation to sequester the carbon dioxide in the geological formation by forming calcites and magnesites, wherein
water displaced from the geological formation by the injected carbon dioxide and water mixture is recycled via a return well that is at a distance from the injection well.
