1. A modular device for generating hydrogen gas from a hydrogen liquid carrier, the modular device comprising:
a housing including a plurality of access ports;
at least one inlet for receiving the hydrogen liquid carrier;
a plurality of cartridges arranged within the housing, wherein at least one cartridge of the plurality of cartridges includes a first catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier, wherein each cartridge of the plurality of cartridges is individually removable from the housing through a corresponding one of the plurality of access ports;
at least one gas outlet for expelling the hydrogen gas released in the modular device; and
at least one liquid outlet for expelling the hydrogen liquid carrier.
