1. An electrically powered slide rail, comprising:
a rail having a channel-shaped cross section and extending in a fore and aft direction;
a slider received by the rail and slidably engaged by the rail;
a screw member supported by the slider so as to be rotatable around an axial line; and
an electric motor configured to rotate the screw member,
wherein the rail is provided with a rail upper wall having vertically facing surfaces, a side wall extending downward from an edge of the rail upper wall, and a screw engaging portion formed in the side wall so as to engage the screw member, and
a lower end of the screw member is positioned upward of a lower end of the electric motor.
