1. A rotating electrical machine comprising:
a magnetic field-producing unit which includes:
a magnet unit, the magnet unit being equipped with a plurality of magnetic poles arranged to have magnetic polarities located alternately in a circumferential direction of the magnetic field-producing unit, the magnet unit having opposing peripheral surfaces, one of the peripheral surfaces being an armature-side peripheral surface that is located to be radially closer to the stator an armature than the other of the peripheral surfaces; and
a magnet carrier having opposing peripheral surfaces, one of the peripheral surfaces being an armature-side peripheral surface that is located to be radially closer to the armature than the other of the peripheral surfaces, the magnet unit being mounted to the armature-side peripheral surface of the magnet carrier;
the armature which is equipped with a multi-phase winding;
a rotor which is implemented by one of the magnetic field-producing unit and the armature; and
a cylindrical restriction member mounted on the armature-side peripheral surface of the magnet unit and configured to restrict radial movement of the magnet unit relative to the magnet carrier, wherein:
the restriction member has a stacked configuration stacked in an axial direction of the rotor;
the armature has a core with a slot-less structure;
the armature winding is mounted to the core and includes conductive members that face the magnetic-field producing unit and are arranged at a given interval away from each other in the circumferential direction;
the armature has one of a first configuration and a second configuration included in the core,
the first configuration having inter-conductor members, each of the inter-conductor members being disposed between a respective adjacent two of the conductive members in the circumferential direction,
the second configuration having no inter-conductor member between a respective adjacent two of the conductive members in the circumferential direction;
each of the inter-conductor members is made of one of a magnetic material and a non-magnetic material; and
the magnetic material satisfies the following relation:
Wt×Bs≤Wm×Br
where:
Wt represents a total width of the inter-conductor members lying within a range of one of the magnetic poles of the magnet unit in the circumferential direction;
Bs represents a saturation magnetic flux density of the inter-conductor members;
Wm represents a dimension of a portion of the magnet unit equivalent to one of the magnetic poles of the magnet unit in the circumferential direction; and
Br represents a remanent flux density of the magnet unit.
