1. A ground-engaging component for an article of footwear, comprising:
an upper-facing surface, wherein the upper-facing surface defines an outer perimeter boundary rim of the ground-engaging component;
a ground-facing surface opposite the upper-facing surface, wherein at least the ground-facing surface includes a matrix structure, and wherein the matrix structure includes a plurality of open cells and a forefoot region including a plurality of closed forefoot support cells; and
a cover member formed as a separate part that overlays a top of the matrix structure, wherein the cover member extends to span and close the plurality of closed forefoot support cells, wherein a boundary line marks a boundary between the cover member and the outer perimeter boundary rim, and wherein the cover member is positioned within a space enclosed by the boundary line.
