1. A needleless connector comprising:
a housing comprising a central longitudinal axis, a body portion, and a base portion, the body portion comprising an inner surface forming an internal cavity, and a first port forming a first fluid passage to the internal cavity, the base portion comprising a top end section, a bottom end section, a second port forming a second fluid passage to the internal cavity, and a protrusion having a distal end at the top end section of the base and extending from the top end section of the base to a proximal end section of the protrusion that extends only partially around the central longitudinal axis; and
a valve positioned within the internal cavity to form an interconnected fluid path from the first port to the second port and between an outer surface of the valve and the inner surface of the housing, the valve comprising a wall having an inner surface forming a valve cavity, wherein the proximal end of the protrusion is positioned in the valve cavity and is spaced apart from a proximal end of the valve cavity.
