1. An offshore arrangement comprising a first substation, a second substation, a first connecting cable electrically connected to the first substation, a second connecting cable electrically connected to the second substation, and an intermediate cable electrically connecting the first and the second cable;
further comprising a connecting device having an electrical connection connecting the first or the second connecting cable to the intermediate cable, and a volume of gas surrounding the electrical connection wherein the connecting device is submerged, wherein the connecting device has a housing, the housing surrounding the electrical connection and the volume of gas, the housing comprising a first opening and a second opening, wherein the first or the second connecting cable passes through the first opening, wherein the intermediate cable passes through the second opening, and wherein the first opening and/or the second opening is fluidly connected to an inner space of the housing.
