1. A delivery system, comprising:
a pusher having a friction region of larger diameter near a distal end of the pusher;
a stent compressed over the friction region and having an inner surface in contact with the friction region; wherein the friction region comprises a core wire forming 1) a plurality of curves, 2) a wave shape, 3) a closed loop, or 4) a plurality of loops; and,
a sheath positioned over the pusher.
