1. A hand-held device, comprising:
a radar transmitter configured to emit a radar signal; and
a radar receiver configured to receive a radar reflection signal, the radar reflection signal being representative of an image of a target, the radar receiver comprising:
a signal processor configured to extract phase history data from the received reflection signal, the signal processor further being configured to process and transform the extracted phase history data into range migration compensated data;
a rotational rate estimator configured to process the range migration compensated data, with reference to Doppler migration with respect to one axis of two axes across the image of the target, to produce Doppler migration compensated data; and
a reference frame converter configured to map the Doppler migration compensated data into a Cartesian reference frame.
