1. An electric machine comprising:
a rotor;
a stator portion formed on a printed circuit board, wherein magnetic flux flows between the stator portion and the rotor in response to relative rotation of the stator portion and the rotor; and
a reluctance coil formed on the printed circuit board, the reluctance coil positioned circumferentially outward of the stator portion and configured to generate a voltage in presence of the magnetic flux.
