16. A method of operating a system, the method comprising:
counting, with a first counting sensor, a number of workpieces entering a vessel configured to carry a working fluid and a plurality of workpieces at least partially submerged in the working fluid;
counting, with a second counting sensor, a number of workpieces exiting the vessel;
calculating a dwell time or density of workpieces in the vessel; and
modulating one or more conditions of the system based on the dwell time or the density of workpieces in the vessel.
