1. A medical imaging apparatus comprising:
an X-ray imaging device including an X-ray source and an X-ray detector, wherein the X-ray imaging device is positionable in relation to an imaged object to acquire image data of the imaged object from different directions;
first movement direction indicators configured to indicate possible movement directions of the X-ray imaging device in relation to the imaged object, wherein a housing of the X-ray detector includes four sidewalls and one of the first movement direction indicators is provided on each of the four sidewalls of the housing of the X-ray detector; and
a display device configured to display the image data of the imaged object and second movement direction indicators in relation to the displayed image data, wherein the second movement direction indicators indicate the possible movement directions of the X-ray imaging device in relation to the imaged object,
wherein the second movement direction indicators correspond to the first movement direction indicators, thereby forming an orientation reference system for positioning the X-ray imaging device in relation to the imaged object.
