1. A method comprising:
operating an engine at a takeoff power level, wherein operating the engine at the takeoff power level comprises operating a low pressure system of the engine at a first speed (N1) and operating a high pressure system of the engine at a second speed (N2),
wherein the high pressure system comprises a high pressure compressor defining a high pressure compressor exit area (AHPCE) at a high pressure compressor exit and a high pressure turbine defining a high pressure turbine inlet area (AHPTI) at a high pressure turbine inlet,
wherein the engine defines a PIQHPTI equal to a mass flow through the high pressure turbine inlet while operating the engine at the takeoff power level, corrected to standard day conditions, times the high pressure turbine inlet area,
wherein the engine defines a PIQHPCE equal to a mass flow through the high pressure compressor exit while operating the engine at the takeoff power level, corrected to standard day conditions, times the high pressure compressor exit area,
wherein the engine defines a total sea level static thrust output, FnTotal, corrected to standard day conditions, and
wherein operating the engine at the takeoff power level further comprises operating the engine with a power performance indicator quantity (PIQPower) in a range of 1400 pounds per square inch (lbs/in2) to 2500 lbs/in2, wherein the power performance indicator quantity is determined according to:
