1. A system for radar interference mitigation, comprising:
a transmitter array configured to:
during a first time interval, transmit a first set of probe signals, and
during a second time interval after the first time interval, transmit a second set of probe signals, each of the probe signals of the second set of probe signals comprising a probe signal property according to a variation pattern;
a receiver array configured to sample a first set of received signals from an environment, the first set of received signals comprising a first interference signal and reflections of the first set of probe signals; and
a signal processor configured to:
generate a first derivative signal based on the first set of probe signals, the first interference signal and the first set of received signals,
detect both (i) parallel interference and (ii) a set of crossing interference events within the first derivative signal by evaluating the first interference signal to estimate characteristics of the first interference signal, wherein (a) the parallel interference is substantially parallel to the reflections of the first set of probe signals in frequency-time space and (b) each of the crossing interference events momentarily overlaps, in frequency and time, the reflections of the first set of probe signals, and
based on the set of crossing interference events and the parallel interference, determine the variation pattern such that (i) the first set of probe signals differs from the second set of probe signals, (ii) the probe signal property of one or more of the probe signals of the second set of probe signals is adjusted with respect to the first set of probe signals to mitigate the momentary overlap with the crossing interference events of the first interference signal and (iii) a variable delay and a random sequence of phase shifts is imposed to mitigate the parallel interference of the first interference signal.
