1. A method for using optical frequency combs, the method comprising:
applying a first filter to a first optical frequency comb, wherein the first filter selects a first frequency line of the first optical frequency comb;
applying a second filter to a second optical frequency comb, wherein the second filter selects a second frequency line of the second optical frequency comb;
altering the first filter and the second filter;
applying the altered first filter to the first optical frequency comb, wherein the first filter selects a third frequency line of the first optical frequency comb, wherein the third frequency line differs from the first frequency line; and
applying the altered second filter to the second optical frequency comb, wherein the second filter selects a fourth frequency line of the second optical frequency comb, wherein the fourth frequency line differs from the second frequency line.
