1. A method for a wireless receiver to demodulate a message, the method comprising:
a) receiving a first copy of the message, an error-detection code associated with the first copy, and a demodulation reference proximate to the first copy, wherein the first copy, the error-detection code, and the demodulation reference comprise resource elements of a resource grid comprising symbol-times in time and subcarriers in frequency;
b) determining, according to the error-detection code, that the first copy is corrupted;
c) providing, as input to an artificial intelligence (AI) model, data about each resource element of the first copy, the error-detection code, and the demodulation reference;
d) determining, as output from the AI model, a quality factor of each resource element of the first copy, the error-detection code, and the demodulation reference;
e) when the quality factor of at least one resource element of the error-detection code or the demodulation reference is below a predetermined threshold, requesting a retransmission of the entire message; and
f) when all of the resource elements of the first copy have quality factors above the predetermined threshold, requesting a retransmission of the entire message.
