1. At least one tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by at least one processor such that a mobile device is configured to:
while in a listening environment, capture, via at least one microphone, frames representing respective audio playback by playback devices in a bonded zone of playback devices, wherein the bonded zone of playback device comprises a first playback device, a second playback device, and a third playback device, wherein the first playback device comprises at least one first audio transducer and at least one first audio amplifier carried in a first housing, wherein the second playback device comprises at least one second audio transducer and at least one second audio amplifier carried in a second housing, and wherein the third playback device comprises at least one third audio transducer and at least one third audio amplifier carried in a third housing, and wherein, during playback, respective output from the at least one first audio transducer, the at least one second audio transducer, and the at least one third audio transducer combines to form sound axes in respective directions;
determine spectral data representing responses of the listening environment to the respective audio playback by the playback devices in the bonded zone of playback devices;
determine a set of respective spectral calibrations that partially offset acoustic characteristics of the listening environment when applied to synchronous audio playback by the respective playback devices in the bonded zone of playback devices, wherein, when applied concurrently, the set of respective spectral calibrations more fully offset acoustic characteristics than when applied individually; and
cause, via a network interface, the playback devices in the bonded zone of playback devices to apply the respective spectral calibrations in the determined set, wherein, during playback after the respective spectral calibrations are applied, the output from the at least one first audio transducer, the at least one second audio transducer, and the at least one third audio transducer combines to form calibrated sound axes.
