1. A mouth guard for detecting impacts experienced by a user during an activity, the mouth guard comprising:
a main body comprising a soft plastic material, the main body being configured to fit into an oral cavity of the user;
at least one force detector disposed within or coupled to the main body, the at least one force detector being configured to detect force imparted to the user by the impacts;
a memory device disposed within or coupled to the main body, the memory device storing a first impact threshold and a second impact threshold that is less than the first impact threshold;
at least one display light disposed within or coupled to the main body; and
a microcontroller disposed within or coupled to the main body,
wherein the microcontroller is configured to, during the activity, lower the first impact threshold in response to the at least one force detector detecting an initial impact that exceeds the second impact threshold but not the first impact threshold, and
wherein the microcontroller is configured to, during the activity, provide an indication using the at least one display light in response to the at least one force detector detecting at least one subsequent impact that exceeds the lowered first impact threshold but does not exceed the first impact threshold.
