1. A device for manipulating a temperature of a user's skin, the device comprising:
at least one thermoelectric element constructed and arranged to be disposed adjacent to a user's skin;
at least one sensor; and
at least one processor in electrical communication with the at least one thermoelectric element, the at least one processor configured to:
determine a sympathetic response associated with an autonomic nervous system of the user based on a signal received from the at least one sensor;
based at least in part on the determined sympathetic response, cause the at least one thermoelectric element to generate a thermal profile at a region of the at least one thermoelectric element adjacent to the user's skin to modify the sympathetic response of the autonomic nervous system of the user, wherein an applied temperature of the thermal profile is cyclically varied between a first temperature and a second temperature; and
modify the thermal profile in response to changes in the sympathetic response determined based on the signal received from the at least one sensor.
