1. A ring for fastening a plunger to a digit of a medical practitioner as an aid to operating the plunger, the ring comprising:
a distal opening;
a proximal opening disposed longitudinally opposite the distal opening; and
a section extending longitudinally from the distal opening to the proximal opening and at least partially circumscribing an interior space of the ring that is sized to receive the digit,
wherein the section comprises a slot that comprises a mouth and that extends longitudinally from the mouth towards the proximal opening, and
wherein the mouth of the slot is disposed adjacent the distal opening, narrows with increasing distance from the distal opening, and comprises an edge that is bent into the interior space.
