1. An industrial camera that generates an inspection target image obtained by capturing an inspection object, comprising:
a zoom optical system that electrically performs optical zooming;
an imaging unit that captures the inspection object to be able to generate a captured image with a number of pixels larger than a number of pixels of the inspection target image;
an image generation unit that generates an inspection target image with a number of pixels smaller than a number of pixels of a captured image corresponding to an output region that is a region of a field of view range of the imaging unit in whole or part by executing downscaling on the captured image;
an interface unit that receives designation of a zoom magnification from a user; and
a calculation unit that calculates an optical magnification of the optical zooming and a scaling magnification of the downscaling based on the zoom magnification, and drives the zoom optical system based on the optical magnification,
wherein, in a case where the zoom magnification is smaller than or equal to a predetermined magnification, the calculation unit calculates a scaling magnification based on the zoom magnification, and the image generation unit generates an inspection target image by downscaling a captured image at the scaling magnification, and
in a case where the zoom magnification is larger than the predetermined magnification, the calculation unit calculates an optical magnification of the optical zooming based on the zoom magnification and drives the zoom optical system, and the image generation unit generates an inspection target image based on a captured image generated at the optical magnification.
