1. A method for mounting an annular abradable element in an annular groove of a member of a turbomachine, the annular abradable element extending along an axis and comprising a cellular structure, the groove emerging at the radially inner periphery of said member, the method comprising:
constraining the abradable element so as to deform it in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the non-deformed annular abradable element, by a device;
axially positioning the deformed abradable element facing the annular groove, inside the member; and
releasing the abradable element so that it is inserted in the groove and regains its annular shape therein.
