1. An electronic monitoring system comprising:
a wireless device comprising an electrical circuit including at least one sensor configured to detect an at least one triggering event and to capture data corresponding to the triggering event;
a controller in communication with the wireless device, the controller executing a program stored in a non-transient medium and operable to define the at least one triggering event as a categorized triggering event; and,
a transceiver in electrical communication with the circuit configured to receive a first target wake time (TWT) signal corresponding to a first TWT duration in the absence of the categorized triggering event;
wherein the transceiver is configured to receive a second TWT signal corresponding to a second TWT duration that is different than the first TWT in response to the categorized triggering event;
the program further operable to deactivate the transcriver during each TWT duration and subsequently activate the transcriver after each TWT duration.
